Course Description
Overview
Want to publish a book independently but have no idea where to start? Join Bestselling Author and Youtuber Jenna Moreci as she explains step-by-step how to self-publish your book from the editing phase all the way to the release.
Writing a book is no easy feat, and publication, especially if you're doing it on your own, can seem twice as overwhelming. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be that way. Each lesson will break down the self-publishing stages in a manner that can be easily implemented even if you don't have experience in the industry. If you've just started your work in progress, or if you have several books under your belt, this class will give you the tools necessary to publish your work on your own efficiently and effectively.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
The Professional Edit. Your book doesn't need an editor, right? Wrong. Allow Jenna to explain the different types of professional edits, why they matter, and how to navigate the professional edit in a manner that best suits your release - and your wallet.
About the Book. You may think it's time for the cover art, but slow down a bit. Let's figure out all the details you need for your book cover first, including the dreaded book blurb. Not sure how to summarize your story? Jenna will show you how.
About The Author. No one likes to talk about themselves, and that's exactly what you have to do in your author bio. Fortunately, Jenna gives a simple formula for writing your bio that is both easy to execute and appealing to readers.
All About ISBNs. Free ISBNs. Bulk ISBNs. And what even are ASINs? ISBNs can be confusing; allow Jenna to make the search simpler.
Book Cover. Every author's favorite part is here! Learn where to find a cover artist, how to plan your cover art, and what sort of layout to implement on your book cover. Remember, readers have very specific cover expectations; you don't want to disappoint.
Formatting. Formatting means bringing your book to life, but it can also be a major headache if you don't know what you're doing. Learn the different methods for formatting your book, the pros and cons of each method, and how to choose the formatting process that is right for you.
Copyright. Most writers dread the copyright process, but all that apprehension is completely misplaced. Jenna tells you how to copyright your book, and spoiler: It's easy!
Library Access. Want to increase your odds of getting your book into libraries? Let Jenna show you how to make it happen in a handful of quick steps.
Publication. In the self-publishing world, publication means uploading your book to vendors or third party distributors. Not sure what the difference is, or what sort of information you'll have to provide? Jenna will give you all the details you'll need to know in this module.
Proof Copies. It's time for the final step of the publication process. Which is better: a digital proof, or a physical proof? What happens if your proof copy is a mess? With Jenna's help, you will get through this and have a wonderful finished novel to release.
