Course Description

Overview

Get more comfortable drawing people in scenes and within interesting compositions!

Drawing people and creating scenes with characters is a lot of fun! It can add a lot of personality and stories to your illustrations. You can also use this skill in games, animation, and publishing for your creative business and/or clients!

In this class, we will go on a journey of designing stylized characters and layouts using simple shapes, perspective, and composition fundamentals.

To celebrate summer and to relax while drawing, we will be placing the characters in a fun little story moment of a summer picnic in the garden, by the seaside, on the forest meadow, or wherever you like!

You will learn about:

  • flat vs. realistic illustration
  • perspective, depth, volume, scale, overlap, framing
  • point of view

and how they help you create scenes and environments with characters and various objects.

Moreover, you will also learn the basic process used in concept illustration!

Building on top of my previous character design classes, this class will help you gain a solid skills for developing your character design style further.

I will be using Procreate, but feel free to use any other drawing software or medium you prefer.

In addition, you will also get a bunch of freebies you can access in the Resources section.

Enroll, and let’s start expanding your horizons and drawing awesome character scenes!

See you in the class!
