Course Description

Overview

Card games are massively popular right now. Since the release of Hearhstone, we've seen many interesting card games from other companies: The Elder Scrolls: Legends, Faeria, Gwent.

In this class/series we set an ambitious goal of developing our own trading card game with Unity3d and C#, mostly focusing on card game battle mechanics.

Learn how to design a card for your trading card game in Unity:

  • Create a Unity project and set up a scene for our future card game battle.
  • Use wide variety of tools and techniques of Unity UI to create your custom card.
  • Learn useful concepts of working with Unity UI: working with RectTransforms, anchoring, 9-slicing for creating frames.

By the end of this class you will learn how to design a custom card face for your trading card game, display description info, mana cost and main card graphic image.

With this class you will gain access to a compete, fully functional Unity project that is an example of a card game battle. The game mechanics are somewhat similar to Hearthstone: custom spells, hero powers, creature effects and so on.

Additional information:

  • The files showed in the course are downloadable from the link that you can find in the "Class Project".
