Design Beautiful Apps: iOS App Design (UX)
Offered By: Skillshare
Course Description
Overview
This class is for anyone who wants to learn more about designing beautiful and simple iOS apps. Whether you’re an app designer and are curious about how we do things from the ground up or you’ve never designed an app before, you’re sure to take something away from this course.
UPDATE: This class is based on the iOS 6 standards - if you're looking for newer, cutting edge updates, this may not be what you want. This focuses more on basics.
What You'll Learn
- Intro and Downloading Assets. We've compiled a list of assets for you to download and get familiar with to prep for your project.
- Skecthingg and Working the Grid. We'll go from initial sketching to working on the computer and understanding the Apple suggested grid.
- Choosing Navigation. We'll discuss the importance of intuitive navigation design and uncover best practices.
- Designing the App. We'll walk you through our final designs and explain how both our functional and design choices work together.
Student Ben Hsu's project.
What You'll Make
We’ll start with a downloadable toolbox of goodies to work with and expand that into the PSD elements necessary to skin a functional app. You’ll get access to the resources and standards we use, and most importantly, you’ll be able to use these assets and standards to style your own custom app screens and complete a simple 2-3 screen app mockup.
