In this Basics of Woodworking class, we'll cover the steps from start to finish of how to build a simple table!

  1. Why a table?
  2. Planning your table dimensions
  3. Sketching your plans
  4. Gathering your tools and wood
  5. Making your cuts
  6. Assembling your table
  7. Types of finish

This class is for anyone interested in building their own furniture.  No prior experience required, but basic tools are necessary- drill, saw, measuring tape, eye/ear/lung protection, speed square.  You'll also need screws- pocket hole or regular wood screws depending on how you build.  Optional tools: miter/circular/jig saw, pocket hole jig, glue and clamps.
