Acrylic Pour Painting with a Mini Kitchen Strainer /Black & White Granite

I'm so excited to teach this class on how to use a kitchen strainer and a paint mixture to create some beautiful effects resembling Granite & Marble. This type of painting is called Acrylic Pour Painting or Fluid Art. It is really mesmerizing to watch the paint designs that appear on the canvas as it flows out from the mini strainer, the fun part is maneuvering the canvas to achieve the design you want! This is a beginner to intermediate class. Look forward to having you in my class!

Below is a supply list of everything you will need to get set up at home on a table to start your creation. I use a folding table and cover it with a disposable plastic table cloth from the dollar store.

You can use any acrylic paints you may already have or I like to use Artists loft paints & supplies from Michaels Arts & Crafts or Blickrylic paints, some supplies can be purchased at the dollar store like plastic table cloth, paper towels, 6 oz. plastic cups or larger, fine glitter at Michaels Arts & Crafts & vinyl gloves, some links provided below:

• Colored Acrylic Paint
• White paint & black acrylic paint
• Mini wax water based Polyacrylic protective finish
• Mini kitchen strainer
• Floetrol
• 10x10 or 12x12 canvas
• Paper Towels 
• Plastic disposable table cloth or wax paper (dollar store)
• blue painters tape for taping back canvas wood bars only
• popsicle or stir sticks
• Vinyl gloves
• Apron or old t-shirt (Optional) 
• wax paper 
• glitter
• mini torch (optional)

I do recommend putting a drop cloth on floor to protect floor from a spill. It’s usually not messy at all but just to be safe.

 Paint mixture:  

• 3 oz. of floetrol
• 3 oz. white acrylic paint
• 3 oz. black acrylic paint

Mix 3 oz. of floetrol with 3 oz. of white paint and stir well in a plastic cup

Mix 3 oz. of floetrol with 3 oz. of black paint and stir well in a seperate plasitc cup
