Course Description
Overview
This course is a survey of the nutritional, health, and safety needs of children from infant/toddlers through preschool age. Topics include but are not limited to the planning and execution of environments and activities that promote safety, balanced diet, and overall health for children. Students also learn the fundamentals of pediatric first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This course meets the Title XXII, fifteen hour, Health and Safety Training requirement, including signs and symptoms of child abuse. It is intended for students majoring in child development and practicing child development professionals.
