Course Description

Overview

In this quest you will use a collection of Google APIs that are all related to language, and speech. You will use the Speech-to-Text API to transcribe an audio file into a text file, the Cloud Translation API to translate from one language to another, the Cloud Translation API to detect what language is being used and translate to a different language, the Natural Language API to classify text and analyze sentiment, and create synthetic speech.

Syllabus

  • Speech to Text Transcription with the Cloud Speech API
    • The Cloud Speech API lets you do speech to text transcription from audio files in over 80 languages. In this hands-on lab you’ll record your own audio file and send it to the Speech API for transcription.
  • Measuring and Improving Speech Accuracy
    • With this lab and Google’s tools you can learn how to get the best possible quality from the Speech-to-Text systems on your specific data.
  • Translate Text with the Cloud Translation API
    • The Cloud Translation allows you to translate an arbitrary string into any supported language. In this hands-on lab you’ll learn how to use the Cloud Translation API to translate text and detect the language of text if the language is unknown.
  • Classify Text into Categories with the Natural Language API
    • In this lab you’ll learn how to classify text into categories using the Natural Language API
  • Entity and Sentiment Analysis with the Natural Language API
    • The Cloud Natural Language API lets you extract entities, and perform sentiment and syntactic analysis on a block of text. In this hands-on lab you’ll learn how to extract entities and sentiment from text using the Cloud Natural Language API.
  • It Speaks! Create Synthetic Speech Using Text-to-Speech
    • In this lab you will create a series of audio files using the Text-to-Speech API, then listen to them to compare the differences.
