Arbitrary traffic steering is a unique feature of MPLS that few other protocols can accomplish. This course builds on your existing MPLS-TE skills to teach advanced applications of this powerful technique, using both RSVP-TE and SR-TE deployments.
The ability to steer traffic in a service provider network is critical. In this course, Redirecting Traffic with MPLS Traffic Engineering, you'll review the fundamentals of MPLS-TE. First, you'll learn about using RSVP-TE and deploy several example tunnels using common constraints, such as bandwidth reservations, affinity rules, and TE metrics. Next, you'll configure advanced MPLS-TE features such as the QoS-based tunnel selection, DiffServ-aware TE, tunnel stitching, and fast-reroute technologies. Last, you'll centralize the path competition process while concurrently programming Segment Routing Traffic Engineering (SR-TE) tunnels into the network. When you're finished with this course, you'll have the skills necessary to deploy strategic and tactical MPLS-TE tunnels using a variety of techniques to implement traffic steering and fast-reroute in any network.
