Understanding how IP packets are routed on a LAN, over a network and to the internet are the foundations of all data networking. This course will teach you how IP packets are routed to and from networked devices.

Routing packets from one device to another is the foundation of how the internet works to move traffic. In this course, Networking Concepts: IP Routing for CompTIA Network+, you’ll learn how routers route IP packets. First, you’ll explore how ARP is used as a bridge between ethernet and IP, and why its needed for routing. Next, you’ll discover how a router routes a packet from one interface to another interface using static and dynamic routing. Finally, you’ll learn how NAT is used to translate traffic from a private network to a public network. When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of IP routing needed to explain the characteristics of routing technologies.
