Welcome to this training where we'll be sharing with you a process of developing a character concept resembling a bandit and one geared towards a game environment in mind. We'll begin this process by sketching a few poses so that we'll have a variety to pick from when choosing a pose for our bandit concept. Following this we'll begin to sketch a few conceptual designs for our bandit based on a pose we've chosen. From here, we'll spend several lessons painting over specific portions of our sketch to establish the look and feel of the character. Along the way we'll explore how we can use pieces of imagery to help streamline this process as flesh out various elements of the character's attire. We'll conclude by painting some overall details to help unify the concept along with some final touches to round out the design such as cleaning up some edges, applying a filter technique to help the image pop and adding an adjustment layer to reinforce the lighting. After viewing this process, you'll have the creative spark to visually realize your own game character concepts. Software required: Photoshop CC 2014.
