Introduction to microscopy
Offered By: The Open University via OpenLearn
Course Description
Overview
This course covers the learning outcomes of understanding the principles of microscopy, including the light microscope, additional systems on light microscopes, histochemical techniques, immunohistochemistry (IHC), interpreting the appearance of sections, and fluorescence microscopes. Students will learn how to use a light microscope effectively, apply phase contrast and filters, interpret sections, and understand the Z-plane. The teaching method includes theoretical explanations and practical demonstrations. This course is intended for individuals interested in gaining foundational knowledge in microscopy.
