Body Image & Drugs
Offered By: Central Institute of Technology via Open Education by Blackboard
Course Description
Overview
In today's society, there are many pressures on both genders and people of all ages to maintain a 'healthy' body image. Some people unfortunately fall into the trap of engaging in unhealthy behaviour to achieve a "perfect" body.
Most commonly in males, Performance and Image Enhancing Drugs (PIEDs) such as steroids and growth hormones are used to gain weight. In females, a combination of eating disorders and PIEDs such as stimulants are the most common health issue associated with body image and low self-esteem in order to lose weight.
