Yale Continuing Medical Education, ON DEMAND: The GI Hospitalist Model: Addressing the Needs of Hospital-Based Care, 12/9/2021 10:19:30 AM - 12/8/2024 11:19:00 AM, The
emergence of hospitalists in internal medicine and its subspecialties over the
past 25 years has led to significant benefits in hospital length of stay and
reduced expenditures. There is accumulating evidence to suggest that
gastroenterology (GI) hospitalists may allow GI practices to successfully adapt
to the evolving landscape of modern practice. In this activity, leaders in this
emerging domain will discuss the various roles of the GI hospitalist in
practice, how GI hospitalists can improve the quality of inpatient care,
trainee education, and engage in research, and finally the considerations and
challenges in building a GI hospitalist program.
