Course Description

Overview

Module 1: Discussion of the benefits of the public cloud for public sector agencies, with special attention to how Azure can be helpful to them.

In this module, you will learn to:

Explain the basic concept and benefits of multi-tenant cloud services.
Describe how Azure helps customers follow data security requirements in the public sector.
Identify scenarios in which Azure could provide solutions for data in the public sector.

Module 2: Learn and understand the key terms and concepts of data protection, privacy regulation, and data processing. Describe, at a high level, the key Azure technologies that pertain to data protection and compliance.

After completing this module, you should understand more about:

Data protection.
Privacy regulations.
Common data protection regulations and acts.
Key data-processing concepts.
How Microsoft helps support data protection and privacy.
Security, privacy, and compliance options in Microsoft Azure.

Module 3: Conceptual introduction to data residency and sovereignty and overview of the options provided by Azure for public agencies to protect their data in the cloud.

In this module, you will learn to:

Describe how data is protected at rest, in transit, and in use.
Describe how Azure reduces the risk of insider data access.
Describe the procedure Microsoft uses when responding to a government request for customer data.
Outline the incident response process Microsoft follows when managing security incidents.

Module 4: Discussion of the private and hybrid cloud solutions for government customers to enforce data sovereignty, meet compliance requirements, and protect sensitive data.

In this module, you will learn to:

Explain how Azure Stack Hub helps customers to remain in control of access to their data.
Describe and identify key use cases for Azure Stack Edge.
Design a conceptual architecture using Azure products and services to support various data classifications.
