Overview

  • Module 1: This module introduces Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement and outlines the capabilities that allow volunteer managers to use these applications to engage volunteers and manage their processes.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Learn the core capabilities of Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement and how they work together
    • Get started with Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement
  • Module 2: In this module, you will learn how to set up engagement opportunities in Volunteer Management. You will learn how to add descriptions, location, required qualifications, and preferences, and how to set up a shift schedule.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Create a new engagement opportunity
    • Set description, location, requirements, and schedule for an engagement opportunity
    • Configure message settings to automatically send messages to participants at key stages
    • Configure post settings for an engagement opportunity
    • Publish an engagement opportunity
    • View a summary of an engagement opportunity
  • Module 3: Learn to add volunteers and create groups of volunteers, and to manage volunteer participation and communication.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Manage volunteer details such as personal and contact details, qualifications and preferences, and availability
    • See a history of a volunteer's participation
    • Use groups to manage volunteers with common interests, roles, or affiliations
  • Module 4: Learn to approve applications, onboard and schedule volunteers, record attendance, and close the engagement.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Add participants to an engagement opportunity
    • Manage applications for an engagement opportunity
    • Take volunteers through an onboarding process
    • Assign volunteers to shifts
    • Mark attendance for an engagement opportunity
    • Close an engagement opportunity
  • Module 5: Volunteer Engagement is a self-service portal for volunteers to manage their profiles and engagements.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Search, view, and apply for upcoming engagement opportunities as a volunteer
    • Update your profile as a volunteer
    • View upcoming engagements, select shifts, and view past engagements as a volunteer
  • Module 6: Configure preferences, qualifications, and onboarding templates to use in the Volunteer Management app.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Set up qualification types
    • Set up onboarding templates
    • Set up preference types
  • Module 7: In this module, you will learn how Volunteer Management and Volunteer Engagement integrate with other parts of the Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit.

    • In this module, you will:

    • Integrate with Exchange or Outlook to send email messages from Volunteer Management
    • Manage documents related to Volunteer Management in SharePoint
    • Integrate Volunteer Management with Fundraising and Engagement
