Course Description

Overview

  • Module 1: Learn how to use Azure Virtual Desktop to deliver remote desktop and remote app experiences in Microsoft Azure.
  • At the end of this module, you should be able to:

    • Describe Azure Virtual Desktop and how it works
    • Decide whether Azure Virtual Desktop is a good choice for your organization
  • Module 2: Learn how to prepare for Azure Virtual Desktop - a cloud-based virtualization solution running on Microsoft Azure. Azure Virtual Desktop is an elastically scalable service to deliver remote desktop and remote app experiences - without having to manage the underlying server infrastructure. Review the prerequisites and tools provided by Microsoft get ready to provision your first Azure Virtual Desktop host pool.
  • At the end of this module, you should be able to:

    • Describe the steps involved and resources you need to prepare for Azure Virtual Desktop deployment.
  • Module 3: Learn how to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop and customize the workspace for your users.
  • In this module, you will:

    • Learn about the key components of Azure Virtual Desktop and the deployment options
    • Deploy a customized workspace with a virtual desktop and remote app
  • Module 4: Learn the steps to optimize Azure Virtual Desktop, including how to take advantage of new storage, file management, and automated scaling options.
  • In this module, you will learn how to:

    • Create separate roaming profiles for users by using FSLogix
    • Migrate files and user profiles by using Azure File Sync
    • Configure automatic scaling of session hosts
  • Module 5: Introduction to Microsoft security capabilities that can help keep your applications and data secure in your Azure Virtual Desktop deployment.
  • After completing this module, you'll be able to:

    • Secure the user identity that can access the Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
    • Use AppLocker to secure the accessed desktop.
  • Module 6: Learn how to deliver applications by using MSIX app attach. MSIX app attach is an application delivery technology that separates applications and their state from the operating system and assigns applications to users dynamically.
  • At the end of this module, you'll be able to:

    • Transform existing applications by using the MSIX packaging tool.
    • Deploy MSIX app attach.
  • Module 7: Learn how to deploy and configure Azure Firewall to protect outbound network traffic for Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • By the end of this module, you'll be able to:

    • Deploy and configure Azure Firewall to protect outbound network traffic for Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Module 8: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop is a cloud service that helps you give users a secure remote desktop that they can use anywhere. With Azure Virtual Desktop, you can plan appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategies to help protect against both unplanned and planned failures and to provide redundancy.
  • After you've completed this module, you'll know more about:

    • How to evaluate and identify a redundancy option for Azure Virtual Desktop.
    • How to plan an appropriate business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) strategy to help protect against both unplanned and planned failures.
