Offered By: Dartmouth College via Independent
Course Description
Overview
Dartmouth Health Continuing Education for Professionals Home, Medicine Grand Rounds - #MeToo: Addressing Gender Inequity in Academic Medicine, 6/5/2020 8:00:00 AM - 6/5/2023 9:00:00 AM, Dr. Jagsi discusses the disconnect between the fact that women make up 50% of medical school classes but are poorly represented in medical leadership, scholarly publications and editorial boards. Her research shows that men and women are not hired, valued or compensated equally even when resumes are identical. Institutional change can include data gathering and remedial action, mentoring, and support of work-life integration for faculty and at the GME level. Examining the “Iceberg of Sexual Harassment” can generate the transformation of culture and climate for women in academic medicine.
