Overview
As organisations push towards greater inclusion and diversity, leaders are looking for ways to celebrate brain differences, not deficits, in their workplaces. With as much as 20% of people experiencing neurodivergence, embracing these differences are essential to building stronger, more efficient teams.
On this online microcredential, you’ll develop critical leadership skills to foster inclusive work environments and support your neurodivergent employees reach their full potential. Work through engaging modules at your own pace, starting any time from 7 October 2024 onwards with three specified assessment hand in dates over the academic year.
Understand neurodiversity and what it means to be an inclusive leader
You’ll begin this microcredential by exploring the fundamentals of neurodiversity. This will provide you with a solid understanding of various forms of neurodivergence and their impact on individuals’ experiences.
Then, you’ll delve into the relationship between neurodiversity and inclusion, learning how to apply inclusive leadership principles and approaches to create supportive and empowering workplace environments.
Develop strong people management skills by understanding neurodivergent conditions
As you work through this flexible microcredential, you’ll explore the challenges faced by younger neurodivergent populations as they transition into the workplace. You’ll pay particular attention to people with ADHD and autism to understand their unique strengths and needs.
Building on this, you’ll learn about less common neurodivergent conditions and examine the distinct experiences of neurodivergent women and girls, equipping you with effective strategies for fostering inclusion across diverse contexts.
Transform your leadership development by incorporating neuroinclusion practices into workplaces
With the skills, expertise, and personal stories of those living and working with neurodivergent conditions, you’ll learn to embrace cognitive diversity within your team and wider organisation.
You’ll discover how to create equal opportunities and support for neurodivergent individuals by understanding legal responsibilities, designing inclusive practices, and implementing effective strategies.
This module will challenge you to develop and apply innovative approaches, enhancing your ability to lead inclusively and optimise workplace experiences for everyone.

How will I be assessed?
You’ll be assessed through a comprehensive 2000-word report where you’ll demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the concepts covered on this microcredential, as well as reflect on your own personal experiences.
When you feel ready, you can decide when to complete this assessment. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive your university credits once you’ve handed in your assessment on one of the following select dates:
- Monday 3rd February 2025
- Monday 12th May 2025
- Monday 8th September 2025
What will I receive?
You’ll receive 10 UK level 7 credits in completing this online microcredential. These credits are obtained once you’ve successfully completed your assessment on multiple, select dates.
You can utilise the credits to build towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management Practice.
