Improve Your CAM and CNC Skills
Offered By: LinkedIn Learning
Course Description
Overview
As manufacturing increasingly relies on computer design and control, it's important to learn the skills that this shifting field demands. Learn how designs are translated into the instructions used by modern manufacturing methods and master the software tools needed to create toolpaths and other instructions for CNC machines.
- Create designs for CNC manufacturing.
- Compare a variety of CAM packages.
- Explore the various G-codes used in CNC control.
Syllabus
- Course 1: Fusion 360: Designing for Metal
- Use Fusion 360—the cloud-powered, accessible CAD and CAM tool—to design metal parts for machining.
- Course 2: Creating a Guitar Body with RhinoCAM
- Learn to use RhinoCAM to model a guitar body for fabrication in a CNC mill.
- Course 3: G-Code Programming for CNC Foundations
- Learn the basics of G-code programming. Learn how to cut real-world objects on a CNC machine using G-code routines.
- Course 4: Learning Mastercam
- Explore Mastercam, a computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) application. Learn how to convert a 3D model to a toolpath—a set of instructions for a CNC mill to follow.
- Course 5: Learning Fusion 360 CAM
- Learn how to use Fusion 360 CAM to prepare your 2D and 3D models for machining on CNC routers and mills.
- Course 6: SOLIDWORKS: Integrated CAM with HSMXpress
- Discover Autodesk HSMXpress, the 2.5 axis CAM plugin that brings integrated CAM to SOLIDWORKS. Learn how to set up a machine and fixtures, configure tools, and generate toolpaths.
- Course 7: Learning RhinoCAM
- Learn how to create models for CNC milling machines with RhinoCAM.
