Course Description
Overview
Architecture Theatre in their many forms have explored narrative design in a spatial context. In this course we will look at what we can learn from these disciplines as they relate to the current state of mixed reality. We will talk to award winning mixed reality creators about how they have had to adjust and evolve to create for mixed reality.
Syllabus
- Intro + Creating Interactive Narratives
- This session discusses approaches in organizing interactive projects. Through guest speakers and project examples, we'll learn how to successfully blend linear storytelling with audience participation.
- Hololens Heroes: Deconstructing a Mixed Reality Experience
- This session takes us through how the dance-based Hololens Heroes project was created from start to finish. We'll discuss in detail the challenges and considerations that went into this project.
- Mixed Reality as Participatory Art
- In this session, we'll take a more in-depth look into the structure and theory of audience-based designs. We'll also look at various examples of interactive, participatory mixed reality programs.
- Where Does This Go Next?
- This session centers around different artists' perspectives on the future and possibilities of mixed reality. How do you envision the future of mixed reality?
