Overview

The Sustainable Supply Chain Professional - Certification Exam Prep Program provides you with the opportunity to continue your professional development related to sustainable supply chain management. The course will allow you to demonstrate a mastery of Sustainability integrated into Professional Supply Chain knowledge.

Additionally, the program courses will provide you with the resources to prepare for the ISCEA certification exam if interested in earning the internationally recognized CSSCP designation. The program will highlight real world examples, including case studies of relevant industry practices, to demonstrate innovation in the Supply Chain Industry.

Fundamental Supply Chain topics, foundational Sustainability topics related to efficient Supply Chain Management, and the integration of Sustainability within Supply Chain processes and strategies will be presented. Inside the program courses you will learn how Supply Chain processes can be innovated to include Sustainable techniques and processes. Sustainability and Circularity will be linked to the essentials of Supply Chain strategies, planning, and Supply Chain operations. Traditional Supply Chain topics of procurement, manufacturing, and logistics processes are clearly explained throughout the program courses. The topics are discussed with a sustainable lens to demonstrate that Sustainability and Supply Chain are not mutually exclusive, but rather depend on the mutual success of each other in terms of efficiency, innovation, and profit. The course highlights the current need to transform business processes through corporate social responsibility, green supply chain initiatives, and partnerships.

The Sustainable Supply Chain Professional - Certification Exam Prep Program is comprised of 3 courses that will form a comprehensive understanding of Supply Chain Sustainability including circular economy practices. The Sustainable Supply Chain Professional Certification Exam Prep program prepares professionals in the supply chain, manufacturing, supply chain analytics, and service industries for the ISCEA Exam to earn the Globally Recognized ISCEA CSSCP Designation. The program intends to foster decision making that will fuel a “green supply chain” in terms of profit and planet protection.

Course 1: Sustainable Supply Chains and Circularity

Master both Sustainability and Supply Chain terms used throughout the Industry. Learn the foundational topics and innovations required for strategic and sustainable planning ​- a course that can lead to the future acquisition of the Globally Recognized, ISCEA CSSCP (Certified Sustainable Supply Chain) Professional Designation.



Course 2: Sustainable Supply Chain Planning, Sourcing, and Procurement

Learn the fundamental concepts of planning, sourcing, and procurement with applied sustainable techniques. The course will begin with content on how to integrate sustainability and circularity into planning and sourcing. The course demonstrates the importance of efficiency and long-term planning to ensure the minimization of waste and the maximization of productive Supply Chain flow.

Course 3: Sustainable Supply Chain Operations and Technology

Master the Supply Chain processes related to reducing inefficiencies in warehousing, distribution, and transportation. Learn the importance of applying sustainable enabling tools that transform the process from end to end. Learn the connection of earlier stages of the Supply Chain to the final stages. Foster innovative & circular thinking. Understand that a commitment to Sustainable process at each stage of the Supply Chain is necessary for long-term Supply Chain function ​- a course that can lead to the future acquisition of the ISCEA CSSCP - Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional - Internationally Recognized Certificate.

    The SSCP01 course introduces learners to the foundations of both Sustainability and Supply Chain. As a current or future professional in either industry, the course provides general background on both Sustainability and Supply Chain. The main objective of the SSCP01 course is to show that Supply Chain Efficiency and Sustainable Innovation are not mutually exclusive, but rather complement each other when paired with correct strategies and business planning. An emphasis on initiatives guiding both economic and environmental performance will be visible throughout the course.

    The course defines the Sustainable Supply Chain. The fundamental issues and obstacles to achieving efficient Global Supply Chains are highlighted to demonstrate the importance of planning and long term management. Circular Economy Models and techniques to shift the traditional linear Supply Chain into a closed-loop model are presented in SSCP01. SSCP01 highlights various International Sustainability Standard Frameworks and introduce learners to the importance of Sustainable Audits. Sustainable Audits will measure, account, and track current operations. SSCP01 includes unique Sustainable Standards around the globe and highlights the ongoing movement to promote social and economic welfare in developed and developing nations. Case Studies of corporate social responsibility initiatives, the role of partnerships, and examples of closed-loop innovations in Global Supply Chain are present in the course.

However, this course will dive into both business and material planning that is required to foster a Sustainable Supply Chain. The course demonstrates the importance of Sustainable Sourcing as a precursor to core Supply Chain processes such as Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Distribution. The course includes detailed education and examples of the role of inventory in Sustainable Supply Chains and innovations that can be implemented to transform traditional linear Supply Chain models to Circular Supply Chain where possible.

    This course is one of the three ISCEA Sustainability Supply Chain courses offered on edX to prepare the leaners for the Globally Recognized, ISCEA Certified Sustainable Supply Chain Professional (CSSCP) Designation. To pursue the Official ISCEA CSSCP Certification, ISCEA requires the successful completion of the Official CSSCP Exam. The ISCEA certification can be acquired to advance Sustainable Supply Chain Management skills of professional in any industry or global market.

    Sustainable Supply Chain Operations and Technology - SSCP03 is designed to further your understanding of foundational Sustainability and Supply Chain knowledge acquired during the first two ISCEA SSCP01-02.

    Technology and Tools must be utilized to foster innovation toward a circular Supply Chain Model. Technology such as robotics, drones, AI, and other tools will demonstrate the ability to make shifts in Supply Chain process to reduce financial and environmental waste and emissions. The course displays the importance of Sustainable transportation within core stages of the Supply Chain including Warehousing and Distribution. The course includes industry examples of current innovative initiatives and applications of zero waste and advanced distribution technologies to motivate professionals to implement technologies into existing or developing Supply Chains.

    The course demonstrates that tools are assets that allow business processes to move toward a circular model as the economy shifts away from linear design. Supply chain designed with course principles included can protect the planet and future for sustained profit and process.
