Overview
Upgrade your communication skills and become a more effective communicator in person, by phone and by email. DIscover more about communication principles, communication styles and reading between the lines. Improve your ability to influence others and respond to influence: learn influencing strategies, strategies for presentations, making requests, declining requests, and how to avoid mistakes in communication. By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate effectively in a variety of modes, make connections to your colleagues, and understand how to influence others and respond to influence.

Syllabus
- Introduction
- Module 1. Introduction/Modes of communication
- You will watch 3 lectures about different modes of communication such as communication in person, communication by phone or email. The module also contains 1 introductory lecture. You will complete 4 assessments to check your learning. To expand your knowledge further, you will be provided with additional materials and optional assessments.
- Module 2: Understanding the other person
- You will watch 3 lectures about understanding the other person through exploring communication principles, communication styles, active listening and reading between the lines. You will complete 4 assessments to check your learning. To expand your knowledge further, you will be provided with additional materials and optional assessments.
- Module 3: Influencing and being influenced
- You will watch 5 lectures about influencing and being influenced: influencing strategies, strategies for presentations, making requests, declining requests, and mistakes in communication.
You will complete 7 assessments to check your learning. To expand your knowledge further, you will be provided with additional materials and optional assessments.
