Course Description

Overview

Discover the importance and impact of leaders in delivering personalised care

Personalised care means giving people choice and control over the way their care is planned and delivered.

This three-week course from Leadership for Personalised Care Programmes will give you an introduction to the meaning and importance of personalised care, and equip you with the tools you need to be an effective leader.

Understand the need for collaboration with communities for system change

The personalised care model presents a shift from a top-down healthcare approach to a co-productive practice. This approach requires new leadership across health and social care.

On this course, you’ll develop an understanding of the personalised care approach and how to work with communities to create and implement a plan for change, improve community capacity and reduce the pressure on the healthcare system.

Explore the leadership skills and behaviours required for personalised care

In order to champion personalised care as a leader in the space, you need the skills, will, knowledge, and confidence to work together across boundaries and systems to drive health improvement across the whole population.

This course offers leadership development training to equip you with the skills and mindset you need, as well as the high-level framework of leadership behaviours you need to lead a new approach.

Evaluate what leadership in personalised care looks like in practice

In the final stage of this course, you’ll reflect on what personalised care looks like in practice, in order to understand how to implement the principles in your own behaviour.

With the expertise from the Leadership for Personalised Care Programme, you’ll be equipped to become an effective leader and advocate for personalised care in order to champion the improvement of public health.

This course is designed for leaders and aspiring leaders in the healthcare, social care, and third sectors, as well as people with lived experience and personalised care needs.
