To take their careers to the next level, executives in any industry need to be able to motivate, inspire and lead a team.
On this four-week course from the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), you’ll gain a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of leadership, applicable to anyone, although focusing on what it means to lead in the finance world.
Discover the benefits of a values-driven approach to leadership
Having a clear sense of your own values can help define your direction as a leader and shape your relationship with your team and your organisation.
In the first week of the course, you’ll identify your core values, and explore the advantages of allowing these values to guide your approach to leadership.
Get to grips with different learning styles and personality types
After clarifying your own values, you’ll begin developing the tools to understand others.
Comparing different learning styles and personality types, you’ll explore how having a deeper knowledge of your colleagues and stakeholders can help to earn their trust and boost their motivation.
Refine your people management and leadership skills
In the final week of the course, you’ll be armed with the skill set you need to devise and implement a leadership plan. From goal-setting and brand-building to relationship management and communication, you’ll cover a range of strategies for steering your team.
You will finish the course feeling more confident and resilient as a leader, with the tools and skills you need to take your (finance) career to the next level.
This course is designed for students or professionals at any level of seniority, who want to master the principles of leadership and boost their people management skills.
While the course focuses specifically on leadership within finance, the topics it covers will be fully relevant to professionals in any industry.
