Sport Technology - On and Behind the Stage
Offered By: Athlete 365 via Independent
Course Description
Overview
Sport embraces technology like few other industries. From carbon fibre bicycles to electronic taekwondo vests, from high-tech swim suits to goal-line technology, there is innovation everywhere. But as Professor Jan Anders-Manson explains, while it brings excitement it also brings challenges.
So what are the limits for innovation? How does technology evolve safely before appearing on the stage? Why is the role of you, the athlete, so crucial? And what opportunities does it give you?
This course is led by Jan-Anders Månson, a professor at EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne) in Switzerland and President of the International Academy of Sports Science and Technology (AISTS), of which the IOC is a founding member.
The course will take around 1½ hours to complete.
