Overview
This course explores the fundamentals of nutrition for athletes, and examines the impact diet has on training and competition.
- What foods should we eat before, during and after training?
- Why are protein and carbohydrate essential after exercise?
- What is the most effective way to keep hydrated?
The course is led by Prof. Ron Maughan.
Professor Ron Maughan is Programme Director at sportsoracle and Chair of the Nutrition Working Group established by the IOC Medical Commission in 2002. He has published numerous books and articles on sports nutrition and exercise biochemistry, and is an editorial board member for several journals including the International Journal of Sports Medicine and Nutrition and the Journal of Sports Sciences.
The course will take around 1 hour 30 minutes to complete.
