This session will review the complexity of pain, including the factors that influenced the diagnosis and treatment of pain in patients. This presentation will then provide effective strategies for recognizing and dealing with these biases.

- Describe the complexities involved in diagnosing and treating pain
- Describe how to recognize and deal with our own biases in the diagnosis and treatment of pain.
