Course Description
Overview
Online hate speech is a growing problem. Parents, teachers and everyone educating young people must be aware of the negative effects online hate can have on individuals, groups and society in general. This course helps you to better understand the phenomenon of online hate and will cover different ways to make your students more resilient. Throughout the course the concept of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is used and demonstrated as a way of empowering young people to disrupt online hate.
The course contains reflection and discussion activities, but also many ideas and activities for classroom practice and for usage in a broader community. The content of the MOOC is heavily based on the SELMA Toolkit.
