The fundamentals of writing an effective op-ed: a how-to guide. This 2.5 hour session will guide attendees through the reporting, structuring and pitching of op-eds for newspapers and magazines. Dr. Seema Yasmin, a medical journalist and Director of the Stanford Health Communication Initiative, and Rob Steiner, Director of the Fellowships in Global Journalism at the University of Toronto, will intersperse the teachings with small-group work where attendees will begin to outline and structure their own op-eds.
