Join designer Helen Stubbings for step-by-step guidance through English paper piecing hexagons, diamonds and more. First, learn how to wrap fabric around paper templates, gluing and stitching each piece to quickly create precise hexagons. Helen will reveal the simple swap that virtually eliminates the need for time-consuming paper removal, before helping you whipstitch your hexies to one another. Next up: appliqué! Follow along to secure your hexagons to background fabric using the appliqué stitch. Then, apply your new skills to create a range of versatile shapes, including pentagons and clamshells. Along the way, you’ll discover tried-and-true tips for hiding fabric tails, avoiding gaps and achieving professional, polished results. You’ll finish class with the confidence to apply English paper piecing to all your favorite patterns and projects!
