One Skirt Pattern, Five Fun Variations
Offered By: Craftsy
Course Description
Overview
Description
Skirts are a staple of any wardrobe and can be worn to work, fancy gatherings and anywhere in between. In this class you will learn how to use your own measurements to draft an A-line skirt pattern. Once you have the basics, you will see how to take those same measurements and turn an A-line skirt pattern into a pencil skirt. You will then see how to construct the skirt from start to finish, including how to add a side or center-back zipper.
Next, you will learn what the difference is between a skirt with gores and a skirt with godets. After you understand the difference you will learn how to again start with the same measurements and basic pattern and make several alterations to make both a skirt with gores and a skirt with godets.
Another fun skirt variation you can make is known as a tulip skirt. This pattern again starts with the same measurements and pattern pieces, but gets the addition of several angled darts. Lastly, you will learn how to combine several of the previously learned alterations and make both a trumpet and a mermaid style skirt.
