Fitting Fashion Knits the Palmer/Pletsch Way
Offered By: Craftsy
Course Description
Overview
Description
Create the perfect templates for flattering garments by learning how to adjust your patterns for knit fabrics! Fashion designer Melissa Watson and sewing fit expert Pati Palmer begin by reviewing different knit fabrics, from ponte and jersey to novelty knits. Then, get tips for perfectly pairing your yardage with a pattern. Once you’ve taken your measurements, Melissa and Pati will teach you the Palmer/Pletsch tissue-fitting method! Use this technique to alter a basic T-shirt, wrap top and no-side-seam pants without creating muslin after muslin. See how to make adjustments for armholes, bust and side seams on your T-shirt pattern. Next, modify your wrap top’s neckline and front pieces to ensure a flattering fit. Move on to your knit pants, and learn how to modify the inseam and darts to match your curves. Finish class with Pati’s expert tips for working with less-stable knits.
