- In this module, we will provide an overview of the course, outlining its objectives and key topics. You will gain an understanding of what to expect and how to navigate through the upcoming modules effectively.
- Environment Setup
- In this module, we will guide you through setting up your development environment. You will create a GitHub account, install the necessary software, and configure your tools to ensure a smooth workflow for your projects.
- Setup ASP.NET Core MVC Application
- In this module, we will establish the foundation for your ASP.NET Core MVC application. You will learn to create projects in both Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio, familiarize yourself with the development environment, and set up your project repository on GitHub.
- Manipulating Website Views and Layout
- In this module, we will focus on customizing the visual aspects of your website. You will learn how to work with the layout file, use Bootstrap for design enhancements, and make modifications to the homepage and About Us page. Finally, you will update your GitHub repository with these changes.
- Adding a Database
- In this module, we will integrate a database into your application. You will connect to and create a database, then use Entity Framework Core to scaffold it. We'll cover generating and understanding scaffolded views and controllers, ensuring you can effectively manage and interact with your database. Finally, you'll update your project repository on GitHub with these changes.
- Customizing Views and Elements
- In this module, we will delve into advanced customization techniques for your application's views and elements. You'll learn how to style your application with Bootstrap, use jQuery for dynamic functionalities, and integrate Datatables for enhanced data handling. Additionally, we will cover adding custom labels, managing database changes, and ensuring your code is error-free. Finally, you'll update your GitHub repository with these customizations.
- Website Authentication
- In this module, we will implement authentication for your website. You will understand the fundamentals of authentication, register and configure Auth0, and test the authentication processes. We'll also guide you through setting up user-related pages and making final refinements to the authentication system. Lastly, you'll update your GitHub repository with these enhancements.
