This course is intended for IT professionals tasked with administering an IBM Storage Scale storage cluster in environments running Linux and AIX nodes. The course includes information on installing, configuring, and monitoring an IBM Storage Scale cluster. Many Storage Scale features are described in lecture materials and then implemented in lab exercises. These features include: Storage management, high availability options, cluster management, and information lifecycle management (ILM) tools. Upon completion of this course, you will earn an IBM digital badge that recognizes your skills and knowledge in this area.

Syllabus

  • Unit 1: Introduction and IBM Storage Scale overview
    • Unit one is an introduction to the architecture, history and components of IBM Storage Scale. In this unit, you will complete seven videos, one quiz, and one lab exercise.
  • Unit 2: Installation and cluster configuration
    • Unit two is all about preparing, installing and configuring. In this unit, you will complete six videos, one quiz, and one lab exercise.
  • Unit 3: Cluster management
    • Now that you have installed and configured clusters, it's time to explore cluster management. In this unit, you will complete six videos, one quiz and one lab exercise.
  • Unit 4: Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)
    • In unit four, you will explore the the policy-based file-management system for storage pools and file sets also known as information lifecycle management. To complete this unit, you must watch five videos, pass one quiz, and complete one lab exercise.
  • Unit 5: High Availability and cluster data backups
    • For the last unit, you'll explore availability and backups. To complete this unit, you must watch five videos, pass one quiz, and complete one lab exercise.
  • Final quiz
    • To pass the course, you must receive a passing grade of 80% or higher on the final quiz. The quiz covers information from all units and videos.
