Placement Level: Eligibility for ENGL-1A as determined by the Chaffey College placement process. Chronological survey of major authors and texts of British literature from the late 18th century to the present. Includes contemporary British and post-colonial texts. Extensive reading and discussion of works. Examination of the relationship between historical events and literary works. Strong writing component with emphasis on textual analysis.
