Course Description
Overview
Limitation on Enrollment: Must be a 2nd year student in the Radiologic Technology Program and in good standing. Prerequisite: RADTEC-16. Corequisite: RADTEC-472L. The course provides a comprehensive study of pharmacology and venipuncture associated with medical imaging, with focus on radiographic contrast media. A review of infection control and professional ethics is included, with an emphasis on application to venipuncture and pharmacology. There will be an emphasis on appropriate delivery of patient care and documentation. Didactic introduction to appropriate and effective venipuncture technique is complemented by laboratory applications and practice. Instructor signature required.
