Course Description
Overview
Placement Level: Eligibility for ENGL-1A as determined by the Chaffey College placement process. This course will provide an introduction to multimedia storytelling with a journalism emphasis. The course will focus on principles of writing news stories with an emphasis on selecting and organizing information in a clear, accurate, coherent, and concise manner. Fundamentals of news copy preparation and format are stressed. The legal and ethical issues facing journalists will be examined. Students will report and write based on their original interviews and research to produce news content. Experiences may include covering speeches, meetings and other events, writing under deadline and use of AP Style. (C-ID JOUR 110) Transfer: CSU; UC
