Course Description
Overview
Placement Level: Eligibility for ENGL-1A as determined by the Chaffey College placement process. Introductory analysis of the literary, social, and cultural aspects of novels, short stories, essays, and poetry produced by Native American societies and how Native People use these various literary forms to express their worldviews and cultures. Analysis of cultural norms, the contributions of Native People to American culture, the relationship between Indigenous communities and Western culture, and the changing image of Native People in Western societies.
