Course Description
Overview
Sociological analysis of family as a social institution, including historical and recent changes, contemporary nature, and socio-cultural and economic forces shaping these changes. Topics include romantic love, mate selection, gender roles, communication, sexuality, parenting, divorce, single-parent families, remarriage, cohabitation, variations in relationships, changes in the definition of relationships over time, and abusive relationships.
