Course Description
Overview
Corequisite: DENTAL-405, DENTAL-415, DENTAL-415L, DENTAL-425, DENTAL-425L, DENTAL-445, and DENTAL-445L. This course is designed to provide theory and laboratory instruction that will prepare the dental assistant in all aspects of preventing disease transmission in the work environment. Emphasis is placed on knowledge of the infectious disease process, microbiology, disease transmission, disinfection, sterilization techniques, OSHA standards & requirements, ergonomics, waterline maintenance and waste management.
