Course Description
Overview
Prerequisite: SPAN-2 or department-determined equivalency (visit https://www.chaffey.edu/acc/acd/acd-academic/spani sh-3ss.php to provide evidence to challenge this prerequisite). This course is designed for heritage speakers of Spanish or other linguistically qualified students. It provides instruction that builds upon the existing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills and the cultural heritage and knowledge of these students. The course will increase awareness of linguistic registers and correct diacritical marks and their correct uses. This course introduces the student to the geography, history, and culture of the Spanish-speaking world and encourages students to analyze and appreciate the important literary, philosophical, and historical texts to build global cultural competence.
