Course Description
Overview
This course provides information relating to the design features and operation of fire detection and alarm systems, heat and smoke control systems, special protection and sprinkler systems, water supply for fire protection, and portable fire extinguishers. This course is identified by the National Fire Academy and FESHE as an approved course as listed in the National Fire Academy FESHE Model Curriculum Associate's document produced 2011, Revised 2014, 2016, and 2019. This course is included as part of the articulation between CSU and Community Colleges and by standardized CID numbers. The course units are transferable into the CSULA Bachelors Program.
