Course Description
Overview
Survey of the history of California from pre-Columbian times to the present. Topics will include Native cultures, Spanish colonization, the mission system, Mexican rule, the Mexican war, the gold rush, the state constitution, Progressive-era political reforms, and immigration. Course meets subject matter and state/local government state code requirements for students pursuing an Elementary Education degree in preparation for teaching grades K-8. Transfer: CSU; UC
