Course Description
Overview
Basic concepts of pharmacology with emphasis on the role of the nurse in drug administration. Drugs affecting body systems; drugs used in neoplastic diseases, infectious diseases and in skin disorders; immunologic agents, diagnostic agents, toxicology, fluids and electrolytes, and vitamins. Principles and factors for managing medication regimen in a home setting. This course is recommended for students actively completing the pre-requisites for the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) or a similar health science program.
