Overview
Placement Level: Eligibility for ENGL-1A as determined by the Chaffey College placement process. Chronological survey of significant authors and texts of American literature from its beginnings in the colonial period to the 1860s. Extensive reading and discussion of works reflecting the diversity of the United States. Examination of the relationship between historical events and literary works.
