Course Description
Overview
Prerequisite: ENGL-1A. This course is designed to develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills beyond the level achieved in English 1A to prepare students for upper division research and writing. This course will focus on the development of logical reasoning, analysis, argumentation, and information literacy through the use of primarily non-fiction texts. Students will write arguments using various types of rhetorical techniques and engage in academic discourse that explores diverse experiences and current issues. A minimum of 6,000 written words is required over the term. May be offered as an Honors course. (C-ID ENGL 105) Transfer: CSU; UC
