Course Description

Overview

How are we connected to the ocean and why is it so important? Investigate the seven principles of ocean literacy, which includes understanding the features of the ocean and discovering the fascinating organisms living within it. Learn how humans influence our one big ocean while also depending on it, whether you live by the sea or hundreds of miles from it. So far, we have only explored about five percent of the ocean. Imagine what mysteries and surprises still await intrepid aquanauts.

OBJECTIVES

There are seven essential principles that explain fundamental concepts about the ocean, including physical and living components, local and global effects, human connections, and discovery. We can make informed and responsible decisions regarding the ocean and its resources.

 

Target Audience: Learners in grades 5-12.
