Health and Well-being of Older People
Offered By: London South Bank University via Canvas Network
Course Description
Overview
People are living longer and the number of older people is increasing. These trends are evident worldwide, making wellbeing a high-profile issue in contemporary policy and practice. Rather than focusing on ‘improving health’ we have moved toward ‘improving health and wellbeing’. The idea of wellbeing involves how we feel about ourselves and our lives, rather than how our lives might be assessed by others. This course is about how we can facilitate good quality, active, healthy and fulfilling lives for older people.
Each week, colleagues from 3rdthought will join us to help illustrate and explore different topics. The course is highly interactive and we look forward to your contribution, too.
OBJECTIVES- Explore opportunities for aging actively.
- Explore the potential for self-fulfilment and creativity as we age.
