Course Description
Overview
Explores the principles and practice of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design for digital platforms, including digital interfaces and interactions on phones, websites, apps, and smart appliances that are designed to solve problems and provide seamless, accessible experiences. Buttons, font choices, icons, color schemes, and layouts are all designed by a UI/UX designer; UI/UX is the communication layer between the application and the user. Provides hands-on, project-based experience exploring techniques and tools to shape content and design media that provide users with intuitive and enjoyable digital experiences. Covers identifying target users, analyzing requirements and behaviors, conducting user testing, creating prototypes, and designing an attractive and responsive experience for users. Offers experience in fundamental and industry-standard UI/UX prototyping and wireframing tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Xd, and online user test platforms. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
